Reflection

Creating these two E- portfolios was very entertaining and a little bit challenging. I did have experience managing Squarespace, and its features are very similar to the ones powered by WordPress. Although, it is confusing having two links one from CUNY Academic Commons and another for actual website. One thing that I like about using the CUNY Common platform, is that you can be creative with your website. You can modify the theme and rearrange the settings (menus, post and pages) of the website just by changing the template. You can upload documents, videos, pictures and descriptions. Some templates are more manageable than others, but the great thing is that there is variety to fit everyone’ style. It took me four to five hours to build the website and to get familiar with the customizing features. After  the time invested, I was very excited and pleased with my e-portfolio.

E-portfolio on blackboard is more straightforward to use.; however, you can do very little with the settings. There is only one template to which you can add a new page or section. In addition, the color of the template is the only changeable feature. Besides modifying the color, you can add documents, pictures, video and descriptions. It took me two hours to setup the e-portfolio on blackboard. The positive aspect of e-portfolio on blackboard is that is already in a platform that we constantly use for daily assignments, and it is readily available.
